Welcome to our Open Village: a systematic approach for bridging the digital divide
Digital Divide. This is more than a buzzword sounding a lot in the last months, surrounded by the announcements of initiatives by IT companies and a broad range of institutions.
Open Village is a new initiative, inspired by the success of Free and Open Source Software communities, aimed to create an open community interested on working in different aspects of the digital divide. The main purpose is to identify, and to develop projects answering to actual needs of people, with their active participation. It is more service, than technological oriented.
This blog has been created with the intention of discuss different aspects of the work to carry on within our Open Village.
